If the court finds that preservation of the marital assets is necessary, then the court may order the sale of the homestead or the sale of other marital assets during the dissolution of marriage or annulment proceedings. If the court orders a sale, then the court may distribute the proceeds from the sale to the parties during the pendency of the proceeding.
If liquid or readily liquidated marital property other than vested pension benefits or rights is available, then the court will divide the vested pension benefits or rights by the disposition of an equivalent amount of the liquid or readily liquidated property.
The court may order partial distribution of marital assets during the proceeding for a dissolution of marriage or an annulment for good cause shown or on the request of both spouses.
